This paper describes the activities, successes and pitfalls migrating the NSHARP functionality from a standalone application to the AWIPS II infrastructure. The standalone NSHARP is a tool used by the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) and Aviation Weather Center (AWC) forecasters for displaying Skew-T diagrams, hodographs and various stability indices. Most of the algorithms and displays were developed by the SPC and were added to the NAWIPS suite of applications by the NCEP Central Operations (NCO) developers. As part of the migration from NAWIPS to AWIPS II, the NSHARP application was folded into the architecture and made an integral part of the Common AWIPS Visualization Environment (CAVE).
