Geostationary satellite risk reduction weather products combined with polar orbiting products provide complimentary information. McIDAS-V is a freely available open source software package that accepts multiple data formats for easy visualization of varied meteorological products including the next generation of satellite sensors, such as Suomi NPP and GOES-R. Examples of current geostationary and polar orbiting satellite products (GOES, AIRS) will be presented along with a sampling of products developed for GOES-R and Suomi NPP. Shared displays, 3D capability, time loops and data probe functionality are an excellent resource for satellite and hyperspectral data analysis and comparisons.
