Since 2001 forecasting tools, techniques and model advances, developed by the research community have been tested and evaluated at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and the Environmental Modeling Center (EMC). The Joint Hurricane Testbed (JHT) has facilitated this effort. The JHT has made fruitful contributions to the forecasting process. The JHT has funded 74 projects since its inception. These projects include upgrades to dynamical models and model components, enhancements to observed data and assimilation techniques, track forecasting algorithms, intensity estimation and forecasting algorithms. During this talk we will present the recent projects that undergoing testing, the process that a projects goes through and highlight some recently completed projects.
