The NOAA's National Weather Service (NWS) and NESDIS's National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) collaborate to generate, distribute, collect, and archive data from various weather radars including the Weather Surveillance Radar-1988, Doppler, FAA Terminal Doppler Weather Radar, and Canadian radars. Through the years many advances have been made in data availability, data transfer rates, new data and products, and tools to help users exploit these data. This presentation and manuscript will provide a brief summary of the status of the data available, services available to external users, and plans for collecting and archiving new weather radar data.
