GOME, Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment, on ESA ERS-2, SCIAMACHY on Envisat and GOME-2 have provided since 1995 measurements the up welling solar electromagnetic radiation at the top of the atmosphere from an early morning sun synchronous orbit. Mathematical Inversion of these measurements yields the tropospheric columns of the trace gases NO2, HCHO, CHO.CHO, BrO, IO , O3, H2O and in the case of SCIAMACHY the dry CO2 and CH4. This talk will provide an overview of the measurements made and highlights of the past decade.
