Space weather is a great integrator, integrating both the many regions of space between the Earth and the Sun as well as integrating basic research with tangible and vital societal benefits. This talk will highlight some recent NSF-supported accomplishments in advancing fundamental knowledge in space weather. It will also discuss NSF's role in space weather education and NSF's role in the larger interagency enterprise of space weather. Finally the talk will conclude with NSF's future plans and priorities in space weather and how they relate to the recently released NRC Decadal Survey on Solar and Space Physics.
