This study evaluated the utilization of the Weather Surveillance Radar 1988 Doppler dual polarimetric new parameters and if there are relationships to observed hail size. Dual-Polarimetric data used were: Correlation Coefficient (CC), Differential Reflectivity (ZDR), Specific Differential Phase (KPD), and Hydrometeors Classification Algorithm (HCA). Reflectivity over 50 dBz showed a trend that hail determined by the radar has a relationship to hail size. Furthermore, HCA correctly identified hail 76% of the time hai when observed on the ground.
