A study to estimate wave-turbulence interactions above a forest canopy was performed in Storrs, CT. Measurements were made under nighttime stable conditions using the University of Connecticut aerosol LIDAR. Tracer plume movements above a canopy were scanned continuously and plume dispersion parameters were calculated from the LIDAR measurements. These parameters are compared with collocated sonic anemometer turbulence measurements. Preliminary analyses examine possible interactions between wave events and above canopy turbulence.
