chemical composition of particulate matter pollution intercepted by urban forest vegetation

The main objectives of this study were to a) determine the chemical composition of particulate matter intercepted by canopy of trees and shrubs in urban areas; b)compare pollution concentration and chemistry of particulate matter intercepted by different tree and shrub species; c)Identify morphological characteristics of urban vegetation responsible for pollution interception.

This poster presentation includes charts and graphs indicating chemical composition of particle pollution removed or intercepted by different vegetation in urban forest of city of Chattanooga, TN.

Statistical analysis (Duncan Multiple Range Test)are included to signify differences among plant species. Geographic Information System (GIS) maps of the city indicating vegetation and pollution concentration are included.
