With the use of sonic anemometer for measuring turbulent wind and temperature fluctuations in the urban boundary layer, two experiments were carried out in Beijing in the summer and winter of 1997. One of the experiments was conducted in the campus of Beijing University, and the other near the beijing 325m meteorological tower. Preliminary results of the turbulence statistics are presented.
