MONITORING OF BACKGROUND ATMOSPHERE ON CLIMATE CHANGE OVER KOREAN PENINSULA
Sung-Nam Oh, Meteorological Research Institute / Korea Meteorological Administration, Seoul, South Korea
National Research Laboratory of Meteorological Research Institute(METRI), Korea Meteorology Administration(KMA) operates the atmospheric baseline climate monitoring station at Gosan(50m above sea level), Jeju. The parameters of climate change include aerosol chemical compounds, aerosol optical depth, greenhouse gases(carbon dioxide,CFCs, methan, nitrous oxide, tropospheric ozone) and chemical compounds, persistent organic pollutants and heavy metals, radioactivity, solar radiation including ultra-violet and standard meteorological parameters. The monitoring activities of this station regarding climate change have been progressed within ACE-Asia IOP(March, May, 2001) program.
