Overview of meteorological workstation development in Europe (Invited Presentation)

European meteorological workstation developments started about 15 years ago. At that time the EGOWS group was created and has met yearly to exchange information on developments in this area. Some of these developments have also been presented at ECMWF workshops and at AMS.
Most of the visualisation systems were developed by individual national meteorological services, eg Synergie, Horace, Diana and Metview (ECMWF), whereas the NinJo project has participation by several partners.
An overview of major recent European meteorological workstation developments will be presented.
