Seasonal Climate Variability in Version 3 of the Center for Ocean Land-Atmosphere Studies (COLA) AGCM
Vasubandhu Misra, COLA, Calverton, MD; and L. Marx
This study discusses the results from a newly developed AGCM at the Center for Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Studies. A set of 6 ensemble member runs of a year long from 1981-through 2003 at T62 spectral truncation were run to diagnose the variability and predictability of this new model. In this study we shall discuss in some detail the variability of the monsoons, the mid-latitude response to ENSO variability and also present some of the energy budgets at the top of the atmosphere and at surface.
