The DOE-ARM funded Mixed-Phase Arctic Cloud Experiment (M-PACE) will be conducted in October 2004 on the North Slope of Alaska. Two instrumented aircraft, one in situ, the other remote sensing, will document the properties of mixed-phase arctic clouds over two ground sites (ARM NSA/AAO and Oliktok Point). We will describe the experiment and its objectives, and present preliminary results.
