The Common Operations and Development Environment (CODE), based upon the Open Radar Product Generator (ORPG) system architecture, is facilitating the development of new algorithms that can be easily integrated into the operational WSR-88D radar. The initial port of the ORPG software to the Linux-Intel platform makes CODE readily available to a larger potential user audience. The current CODE distribution is described including the availability of the Linux port.

The extensive testing, development and analysis capabilities now available by combining CODE with near real-time Level 2 archive data from WSR-88D radars as a data source and TCP/IP for radar product distribution will be described along with examples of how CODE is being used to support research, development, and operations today.
