NPOESS Preparatory Project (NPP) Space Segment
Bill Anselm, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD
The NPOESS Preparatory Project space segment comprises the spacecraft and four sensors, and is the primary risk reduction effort for the NPOESS mission. The spacecraft, built by Ball Aerospace Technologies Corporation (BATC), was completed in 2005 and recently finished the "risk reduction" test phase. The presentation will provide status of the integration and test of the four sensors: ATMS (Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder by NGES), CrIS (Cross-Track Infrared Sounder by ITT), OMPS (Ozone Mapping Profiler Suite by BATC), and VIIRS (Visible/Infrared Imager/Radiometer Suite by Raytheon) with the spacecraft for pre-flight testing. Recorded presentation
