The objective of the CloudSat mission is to provide, from space, the first global survey of cloud profiles and properties with seasonal and geographic variations, needed to evaluate the way clouds are parameterized in global models, thereby contributing to predictions of weather, climate and the cloud-climate feedback problem. This talk will present the first results from CloudSat, to be launched in Fall 2005.
