The National Weather Radar Testbed (NWRT) in Norman Oklahoma is a national weather research facility consisting of a converted Navy SPY-1 phased-array radar system. It is expected to be utilized by researchers both inside and outside of the Norman area. One goal of the facility is to allow researchers to operate the radar and collect data without having to travel to Norman. A new Radar Control Interface(RCI)is being developed to simplify radar control and data collection operations. This paper describes the design and operation of the new RCI.
