The NSF view of space weather
A406 (Georgia World Congress Center)
The National Science Foundation supports space weather in a variety of ways. Organizationally, NSF has been an active participant in the National Space Weather Program (NSWP) since the program began in 1993. The NSWP fits well into the NSF strategic vision, promoting both quality science and service to society. This talk will concentrate primarily on some recent scientific highlights of NSF space weather research. In addition, the talk will also discuss NSF's role in the NSWP and some outstanding issues facing the NSWP as it enters its second decade of existence.
