Validation and Calibration Plans for the Ozone Mapping Suite (OMPS)
A302 (Georgia World Congress Center)
The Ozone Mapping and Profiler Suite (OMPS) will fly on the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS) afternoon-equator-crossing-time platforms through 2025. The initial flight of this suite will be on the NPOESS Preparatory Project satellite (NPP). The OMPS is made up of three sensors -- a nadir mapper and profiler sharing a telescope and a separate limb profiler. This talk will give an overview of current plans for monitoring the calibration of OMPS measurements and the validation of OMPS ozone products.
