The National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS), a tri-agency program, provides a critical, timely, reliable, and high quality space-based sensing capability to acquire and process global and regional environmental imagery and specialized meteorological, climatic, terrestrial, oceanographic, solar-geophysical, and other data products.

The NPOESS Space Segment integrates 13 sensor suites onto a heritage spacecraft to provide a stable observatory for enhanced sensing of the earth and near space environment. Sensors are an evolutionary development from over 40 years of earth observations. The spacecraft build on the heritage of NASA's successful AQUA and AURA missions, which are part of the Earth Observing System. The poster will show how the sensors and spacecraft will come together to support the NPOESS mission.
