In situ temperature and velocity measurements of atmospheric turbulence from a vertical array of sensors suspended from a Tethered Lifting System (TLS) were produced during the CASES99 campaign. The temperature measurements consisted of a low frequency response solid-state temperature sensor and a high frequency response fine-wire sensor. The velocity measurements consisted of a sensitive pitot-tube velocity sensor vaned into the wind and a high frequency response hot-wire sensor. The calibration of these sensors and examples of data will be presented.
