Climate Characterization Using Hourly Temperature and Humidity with ASOS and AWS data
Xiaomao Lin, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE; and K. G. Hubbard
The Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) and the Automated Weather Station (AWS) Networks are currently recording data at weather station sites on an hourly basis. Recent in-situ comparison of these two systems for air temperature and humidity was made in order to gain an understanding of the magnitude and direction of differences at the hourly level. The hourly and daily air temperature and humidity were statistically analyzed to provide an in-situ comparison.
