A new pressure parameterization for use in turbulence closure models will be presented. This parameterization will be based on the geometry of the turbulent flow. We will examine two types of boundary layer (BL), a dry convective BL and one for which rolls are observed. For each of these cases, the perturbation velocity and pressure will be derived in terms of the geometry of the flow. These expressions will then be inserted in the higher moment momentum equations to obtain the parameterization. The values of these pressure terms as well as the momentum variances and fluxes they are used to determine will be calculated and compared to both LES results and to results obtained with the use of previous pressure parameterizations. An assessment will be made as to the feasibility of using this approach in a large-scale model.
