High resolution profiles of temperature, velocity, and small-scale turbulence measured from the CIRES Tethered Lifting System (TLS) are presented for stable boundary layers in an urban environment. The derived profiles are also compared with coincident measurements from a coherent Doppler lidar. Estimates of energy dissipation rate and boundary layer height from the Doppler lidar are compared with the high-resolution data from the TLS over similar spatial and temporal averaging domains.
