In my talk, I mainly focus on the study of coherent pattern of variability of African dust and precipitation in the domain of Tropical Atlantic and Africa. I use SVD (singular value decomposition) method to analysis the annual cycle and interannual variability of the two fields. I try to find a relationship between them and give it a scientific explanation. Besides that, I will also include the water vapor and SST fields to my studies to integrate all these element into a tropical Atlantic climate system. My final goal is to identify the role that aerosol plays in the climate system whether it is only an external noise or an important component.
