Cloud albedo and height variations measured by MISR over the Terra mission
Roger Davies, Univ. of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand
Cloud heights and albedos have been measured by MISR continuously for the duration of the Terra mission, from early 2000 to present. The global averaged cloud heights show a detectable decrease, which reaches a maximum of -71±12 m/yr at low latitudes. Albedos, by contrast, show no detectable change over this short time period. Updated information from 2006, and implications regarding the effects of cloud feedback on top of atmosphere radiation budgets will be discussed.
