The National Centers for Environmental Prediction, Environmental Modeling Center (NCEP/EMC) has recently implemented significant improvements into NCEP's operational forecast systems to increase both the scope and quality of NCEP's products. Ranging from seasonal to interannual prediction to hourly rapid updates, NCEP has advanced the quality of its products for both high resolution runs and ensembles. Impacts on hurricane forecasting and winter performance, a new Gridpoint Statistical Interpolation (GSI) analysis and a full suite of real-time ocean forecast products will be highlighted. Plans for migration to a more unified system, compatible with the Earth System Modeling Framework structures, will be shown. .
