An Air Emissions Inventory for Hong Kong

The recently compiled 1995/96 air emissions inventory represents the most comprehensive inventory to date for Hong Kong. The inventory was compiled as part of the Territory-wide Air Quality Modelling System commissioned by the Environment Protection Department Hong Kong This paper describes some of the detail to generate the emissions inventory. Sources estimated included mobile, biogenic, industrial and area based sources. A feature of the inventory was the use of GIS-based emissions inventory software, EMS-95, which facilitates spatial disaggregation, speciation and emissions projections.
