.The main objective of EuroROSE (European Radar Ocean Sensing) is the development of a transportable methodology for monitoring and forecasting winds, waves, water level and currents in imited areas (typical extent 40 by 40 km), such as coastal and port approach areas.
The methodology is a combination of area covering ground based remote sensed data and high resolution numerical forecast models including data assimilation, co-ordinated with the Vessel Traffic Services at ports and coastal monitoring centres. The term 'transportable' means that the methodology is easy to be adapted to different basins. The system developed will be tested in two field experiments, and will also be validated from the scientific point of view
