Regional Climate Model simulations over the Central United States

PAPER WITHDRAWN

Gregory S. Jenkins, Penn State Univ., University Park, PA; and S. Zelinka

Simulations at 25, 50 and 108 km over the Midwest United States have been undertaken with a regional climate model which is driven at the lateral boundaries by ECNWF analyses. These simulations take place during the summers of 1988, 1993 and the winters of 1986-87 and 1988,89. This presentations shows how domain size, model physics and horizontal resolution impact model biases, mean states and the differences during extreme seasonal events. Output from these regional climate model simulations will be used as input to a hydrologic model to investigate water resource management decisions over the Monongahela river basin.
