Transforming Extensible Markup Language Documents With XSLT

Thomas B. Passin, Mitretek Systems, McLean, VA

Extensible Markup Language (XML) is rapidly developing a wide range of applications, including data interchange and remote procedure calls. One practical problem is displaying or printing the data contained in XML documents. One approach is with the draft standard for Extensible Sylesheet Language (XSL) and the related transformation language XSL-T.

This paper gives practical information that will allow one to start styling and transforming XML documents with XSL. Non-platform-specific tools and examples are discussed.
