Lidar Network Observation of Asian Dust over Japan in the Springs of 1997-1999.

.We have started cooperative observation of Asian dust over Japan with lidar, sunphotometer, particle counter, etc. since the spring of 1997. Dust particles have relatively remarkable characteristics and easy to detect and distigush the other type of aersols by in-situ, ground and stellite remote sensing techniques. We will present our lidar records of Asian dust events in recent three years and discuss further extension of the network
