Application of Products Availability Monitoring System (PAMS) to AWIPS OT&E Testing

The Office of Systems Operations of the National Weather Service Headquarters has developed a powerful and indispensable tool to quantify the effectiveness of the AWIPS communications networks in delivering weather-related products from data sources to field sites, and from field sites to field sites. The architecture and design of PAMS were covered in a previous paper. This paper is a follow-on and describes in more detail the capabilities and utilities of PAMS in supporting the AWIPS Operations Test and Evaluation (OT&E). Test criteria, performance metrics, and test results will be presented.
