Daniel Kottlowski, AccuWeather, Inc., State College, PA; and J. Candor and J. Ferrell

With the explosion of weather information available through Internet access, meteorologists are increasingly turing to the Internet as a primary or secondary source of weather information.

We will examine available sources of weather information on the Internet, geared to meteorologists, including those from government, universities and the private sector.

Although most sites offer free access, subscription sites will also be included along with a listing of their fees. A list of site URLs will be presented with a comparison of content, update frequency and timeliness of information of interest to meteorologists. Special attention will be paid to availability of model data, DIFAX, the spectrum of NEXRAD Doppler radar products, official NWS watches and warnings, and analysis capabilities.

Online examination of sites will be included in the presentation, to illustrate available weather products, as well as the speed and ease of access.
