Integrating GLOBE Student Data Observations at NCDC in Climate Monitoring Activities

Thomas F. Ross, NOAA/NESDIS/NCDC, Asheville, NC; and K. C. Chhak and W. M. Faas

NCDC is investigating using GLOBE student data collected by GLOBE schools as part of climate monitoring and archival activities. The data when serially complete and meeting NCDC quality control procedures are valuable in NCDC data analyses and research. This paper will present results of using these stations in various analyses and give summary statistics concerning quality of the data and GLOBE stations. Specific case studies will also be presented using a blend of GLOBE student and traditional NCDC station data.
