Mongolia has expansive areas of natural grasslands. Therefore, vegetation and drought monitoring is very important for Mongolia. This paper presents some examples of using Remote Sensing and ground Meteorological data for vegetation and drought monitoring. We studied vegetation dynamics using NDVI data. For biomass estimation we used some regression models based on the correlation between biomass measured at ground station and NDVI obtained NOAA satellite data. We also considered spectral reflectance of various soil-vegetation systems. The correlation was defined between some spectral reflectance combinations and biomass, NDVI and rainfall. The purpose of this study is to study natural climate change such as agricultural drought using satellite data.
