Immersadesk demonstrations: oceanographic and atmospheric models and in-situ data

Christopher W. Moore, JISAO/Univ. of Washington, Seattle, WA; and N. N. Soreide

The results of oceanographic and atmospheric research by various scientists at NOAA's Pacific Marine Environmental Labs will be presented on  the Immersadesk: an interactive stereographic virtual environment. Demonstrations will include, but are not limited to: tsunami modeling, bio-physical modeling in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska (see figure), hydrothermal vents modeling, and El Niño in-situ data from the tropical Pacific.

Session attendees will be invited to use the stereographic interface to view these model results and in-situ data and find how these techniques can give insight to the dynamics governing these systems.
