The New National Coastal Data Development Center
Richard Barazotto, NOAA/NOS, Silver Spring, MD; and F. Klein
This presentation will describe the mission, goals, and planned activities of the National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC). The NCDDC will ensure archive of and access to the long-term coastal data record. It will work closely with many Federal, State, and local agencies, academic institutions, and industry to create unified, long-term coastal data sets and applications for public use.
The NCDDC data and information access capabilities will migrate onto a virtual data system linking all of the NOAA data centers and other repositories of coastal environmental data.
