Details on Closing Keynote Address
J. M. Cousteau
The AMS Annual Meeting will close with a special keynote presentation by Jean-Michel Cousteau, president and founder of the Ocean Futures Society, which is dedicated to raising awareness about the health of the ocean, its habitants and inhabitants. Internationally-recognized for his efforts on behalf of the environment, Cousteau captivates his audience with tales of the oceans - one of our themes for the meeting.
Cousteau has carried on his family legacy of ocean exploration and conservation, starting from the age of seven when his father, Jacques Cousteau, first introduced him to the seas. Today Cousteau is dedicated to communicating with the public on the declining health of the ocean, its habitats and inhabitants.
His presentation will add a unique perspective to this year's symposium on Climate Variability, the Oceans and Societal Impacts. The keynote presentation will take start at 6:30 p.m. in the Kiva Auditorum on Thursday, 18 January.
