The Virtual Institute for Satellite Integration Training has been offering teletraining sessions on the use of satellite and integrated sensor techniques to forecasters over the last two years. The training sessions are conducted live and have associated talking points which may be used at times when the sessions are not scheduled. In the last year, participation has grown as distance learning grows in acceptance by the meteorological community.

To date, training topics have focused on the use of satellite and integrated sensor displays in the forecast and warning process. This presentation will highlight the increased activation/use of GOES Rapid Scan Operations imagery and a training session developed in cooperation with the Wichita, KS National Weather Service Science and Operations Officer. Future training sessions under development will include aspects of the winter weather forecast, watch, and warning process.
