Television weathercasters represent a direct link for scientific outreach to a huge proportion of the general public. In this presentation, I will discuss various ways television stations can increase their level of
outreach and education to the community through their television weathercasters. This increase in outreach and educational content does not necessarily require an increase in the amount of on-air time for the weathercaster. Just choosing words more carefully and focusing the weathercast on relevant topics can work.
