Recently, a technique which uses integrated slant delay from GPS satellites to diagnose three dimensional water vapor has been suggested. This technique uses a three dimensional variational analysis and an assumption about other sources of error to recover the water vapor field. A more complete analysis of this type has been run. A three dimensional analysis of both water vapor and temperature can be derived if there are enough observations to make the problem well determined. The results of the test show that three dimensional water vapor and temperature can be recovered using this technique.
