At this time there are expanding opportunities to profit from the provision of weather and climate products and services. By bringing together representatives of weather and/or climate sensitive industries, the providers of those products and services, and those familiar with the policies that could enhance the opportunities, it is anticipated that the forum will provide attendees with insights into the opportunities and an understanding of relevant policies.
There will be two panel discussions organized for the forum. One panel will deal with private sector opportunities and the other with the policy implications. The panels will consist of three persons that have extensive backgrounds or special expertise in the subject areas. Each panel will encompass 1.5 hours of dialogue consisting of 45 minutes devoted to three 15-minute presentations followed by 45 minutes of open discussion among the panelists and the audience. Each three-person panel will have a moderator who will engage the audience and direct the flow of the discussions.
In advance of the forum, each panelist will be given three questions designed to focus their discussions. The panelists will be asked to prepare a brief paper on their responses to the questions. Prior to the forum, the panelist's papers will be made available to the Annual Meeting attendees as part of the registration package.
