A qualitative comparison between the temporal variation of streamflow index and solar flux level

This paper examines the qualitative relationship between the temporal variations in daily streamflow and the temporal variations in the daily solar flux. The average daily streamflow index published by the U.S. Geological Survey is compared with the monthly cycle (28 days) of the F10.7 centimeter (2800 MHz) solar flux. A summary of the comparison is provided to determine whether a general relationship exists between these two temporally dependent parameters. Based on this comparison any insight into the nature of the relationship is highlighted for use in a predictive or resource management context. The article compares the two parameters over different regions of the U.S. and highlights the differences in the relationship between the two parameters for different regions.
