Implications of the substantial levels of Volatile Organic Compounds measured at La Porte, Texas during TEXAQS2000

In-situ measurements of Volatile Organic Carbon (VOC) compounds at the La Porte site during the TEXAQS2000 campaign revealed substantially enhanced levels of many species relative to levels documented in other urban areas. Particularly significant were high levels of reactive alkenes, which are precursors of rapid ozone formation. Measurements from the four VOC instruments and comparison of these measurements with emissions inventories will be presented.
