The Pacific Ocean covers more than half of the earth and is endowed with a diversity and abundance of life that far exceed those of any other body of water. Yet, exploration and understanding of this extraordinary resource is just beginning. Since the opening in June of 1998, the Aquarium of the Pacific has delivered quality educational opportunities and helped fulfill the vision "to instill a sense of wonder, respect and stewardship for the Pacific Ocean, its inhabitants and ecosystems." Through engaging exhibits, informative presentations and innovative educational programming, dedicated staff provide millions of children, adults and families with knowledge about the Pacific Ocean and the importance of conservation.
