The Enhanced Digital Geodata Environment (EDGETM) is a robust qualitative and quantitative analysis package. Some of the new interactive analysis tools available with this package and their advantages are discussed. A focus on the embedded nature of co-located weather data sets is emphasized with regard to providing decision support tools for planning and forecasting weather conditions limiting specific activities. The advantages of quantitatively comparing the differences between co-located weather data using the interactive tools is highlighted along with the qualitative gridded analysis differences between these data sets. Using these tools, users can provide decision support solutions that leverage the advantage of each data component. Potential decision support approaches are outlined and summarized as an environmental data fusion mechanism.
