Soil Temperature Variability during the IHOP 2002 Project

PAPER WITHDRAWN

Heather McIntyre, NCAR/RAP, Boulder, CO; and F. Chen

To clarify the energy and water cycle in the Southern Great Plains of the U.S., it is important to understand the evolution profile of the soil temperature as it relates to the meteorology of the boundary layer. During the IHOP 2002 Project, centered over the Southern Great Plains, data was collected that could futher our knowledge of this study. This poster will primarily examine the variability of the soil temperature measured at different land-use types over the growing season. The soil temperature will be related to other parameters, such as the soil's volumetric water content, soil-water potential, soil type, and rain events that occured during the project.
