5.4 Futurecasting and How It Relates to Broadcasting

A decade ago, the weather office at a Broadcast TV station had up to half a dozen specialized systems for accessing data for forecasting and for the production of on-air graphics.

Today, all of these functions are performed on a single integrated system with a high degree of automation. And now, TV stations are even running their own local computer models and showing the results on air.

The presentation will show examples of some of the more unique forecasting tools and graphic visualizations possible with today's technology.
